“Know that love is truly timeless”  -Mary M. Ricksen

What would you do if one day, you find out that you have the ability to leap through time? Would you use it for self-satisfaction? For changing the course of humanity for better or worse? Or would you do it for love?

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Space was a science-fiction novel written by Yasutaka Tsutsui and animated in 2006 by Studio Madhouse. There are also numerous TV series and film adaptations for the novel, but let’s be honest here, who’d even heard of it and let alone watched it? Which is why on this Wednesday’s night for the screening session, we’ll be watching the anime adaptation together.

For her work is being reverenced by fans alike to be of an excellence, there is a piece of missing detail in regards of its title that doesn’t tandem with what’s happening inside the anime, as such the girl was meant to travel time and space. As a layman’s term, think of an example from the time machine from the movie of The Time Machine in 1960, where the machine would only take you back in time and not space as such it would be a misnomer for the girl to leap through time only and not space associated. Though it’s understandable since the term is esoteric for its time in Japan or globally known for its dimmed popularity of genre.

Details are as follows:

  • Venue: XR1005
  • Time: 8.30 p.m. – until the Doctor arrives.
  • Date: 6th August
